Anne Nemetz-Carlson Receives the Frances Litman Award

The MA Children’s Trust honored Anne Nemetz-Carlson, President and CEO of Child Care of the Berkshires, with the Frances Litman Leadership Award.  The award was presented by Suzin Bartley, Executive Director at the Children’s Trust View From All Sides 24th Annual Conference held on October 13, 2016 in Marlborough, MA.  According to Children’s Trust, the Frances Litman Award is presented to an individual who has been in the parenting education and family support field for at least 20 years and exemplifies qualities of a strong, natural leader, has excelled in her role and has made a significant contribution.

Ms. Nemetz-Carlson has served as the President and CEO of Child Care of the Berkshires for the past 33 years and in that role has led an entire community towards ensuring safe and healthy childhoods for all children. The Children’s Trust noted that she is a natural leader who has taken on numerous roles in the community including serving on the Williamstown Elementary School Committee, serving as an adjunct professor in the field of early childhood education and as secretary on the Board of Directors of MADCA (Massachusetts Association of Day Care Agencies). In her role at CCB, Ms. Nemetz-Carlson oversees a variety of early education and care programs serving more than 400 children and a family support system that includes the Healthy Families Program, the Northern Berkshire Family Center and the Parent Child Home Program. “I am very honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Ms. Nemetz-Carlson.  “I want to thank the home visitors, teachers and other support staff for their tireless home-visiting, their dedication to implementing parent and child activities, their commitment to finding community resources to assist families, and their friendliness and engaging personalities, and their creative ideas. Through our combined efforts, through kindness, our children will be raised in homes with nurturing parents who have hope and aspirations for themselves and their children.“
