Howard “Jake” Eberwein lll

Jake Eberwein is the Dean of Graduate and Continuing Education at MCLA. Prior to this role, he was the Superintendent of the Pittsfield Public Schools, Deputy Superintendent, principal of Pittsfield High School and a chemistry/biology teacher.  He is interested in transformative leadership and organization development that elevates student achievement and closes the achievement gap, and community/collective alignment and impact. Jake earned his undergraduate degree in biology/chemistry at Skidmore College, his M.Ed degree in school leadership from MCLA, and his doctorate in educational policy and research from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2008. He serves several boards and advisory committees including Berkshire County Compact for Education, the Berkshire County Education Task Force, the Berkshire United Way, the Berkshire Museum, and El Sistema .He has served as an adjunct professor at MCLA and American International College. He joined the CCB Board of Directors in the spring of 2016. He lives in Dalton with his wife and five children.  howard.j.eberwein@mcla.edu
