Board of Directors
Child Care of the Berkshires is governed by a Board of Directors, made up of several members representing the community, including parents of children using CCB’s services as well as former parents. Membership is recruited from all areas of Berkshire County in which we have programs operating. Board members are nominated to serve on the Board for a one-year term for current parents and three year terms for community members at large. The Board is responsible for overall governance of the agency, approving policies including the Personnel Policies, approving the budget, monitoring the income and expenses, long range planning, hiring and supervision of the Executive Director.
The Board of Directors consists of a group of dedicated individuals concerned with the quality of early education and care who meet bi monthly to discuss issues important to the agency.
President
John Craig, Williamstown, MA Retired Attorney. Former board member of the Rural Lands Foundation, the Reach Foundation. Current director of the Clark Conservation Lab. Re-elected for term expiring in 2011. Elected President January, 2000. Chairperson of the Executive Committee. Member of Personnel, Nominating, Finance/Audit, Fundraising, Investing & Marketing Committees.
Vice-President
Paul D. Jennings, Williamstown, MA – Re-Elected Community Representative and Elected as Vice-President January, 2010. Serves on the Finance Committee and heads the Strategic Planning Committee.
Treasurer
Laurie Brown, C.P.A., North Adams, MA Community Representative, serving her third term as Treasurer. Employed by Mass. College of Liberal Arts in the office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance. Serves on Executive Committee, Investment Committee and is Chairperson for Finance/Audit Committee.
Assistant Treasurer
Sue Durocher, North Adams, MA Elected to three year term as representative from the community at large December 2008. Elected Assistant Treasurer of the Board, January 2010. Is currently employed by North Adams Regional Hospital as a Project Manager. Serves on the Finance Committee.
Clerk
Heather Boyko, Lee, MA – Elected to three year term as representative from the community at large December, 2009. Elected Clerk of Board, January 2010. Currently employed as an adjunct professor at Berkshire Community College, teaching physics and chemistry. Heather is also a parent of preschooler attending the SBECC program. Serves on the Personnel and Compensation Committee and Policy Committee.
James Brosnan
James Brosnan, Adams, MA Community Representative. Re-elected to Board December 2010 for three year term as representative for the community Currently serves as Superintendent of Schools for McCann Vocational Technical School, North Adams, MA Joined CCB Board in 1997; served as President 1998 – 1999. Serves on Policy, and Personnel Committees.
Robert Greenberg
Robert Greenberg, Williamstown, MA Elected to three year term in June, 2009 as community representative. Retired businessman. Serves on the Finance, Fundrasing and Marketing Committees.
Vickie May
Vickie May, Richmond, MA Board member since January 2006 as Community Representative. Re-Elected to three year term January 2009. Employed by Greylock Federal Credit Union as a marketing specialist. Serves on Fundraising & Marketing Committee.
Barbara McLucas
Barbara McLucas, Williamstown, MA Re-Elected Community Representative, January 2010. Barbara McLucas is currently on the Board of Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity with main responsibility for fundraising, and is also the President of the South Williamstown Community Association. She enjoyed a 25 year career where her principal responsibilities were in human resources and information systems. She lived in Norway, Indonesia and a number of US locations during her career. Serves on Personnel and Investment committees.
John Prichard
John Prichard, Williamstown, MA Re-Elected January 2010 for three year term as Community Representative. Employed by Johnson & Higgins, New York as an insurance broker for over 30 years with assignments in Pittsburgh, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Bermuda and London. Was also employed as an Insurance Consultant/Fund Raiser for Williams College. Most recently was employed as Consultant/Fund Raiser in New York before retiring. Serves as Chair of the Fundraising and Marketing Committee for Child Care of the Berkshires.
Jid Sprague
Jid (Mary-Jane) Sprague, Williamstown, MA Elected to a three year term as representative from the community at large in February, 2009. Jid is currently serving as a volunteer at the Clark Art Institute and as a board member of the Williamstown Theater Festival. She has a longstanding affiliation with the National Organization of the Girls Club, Inc. which promotes the positive well-being of young women. Serves on the Quality Committee which reviews outcomes of programs to ensure quality services.
