Volunteer!

• Do you have 4 hours a week you can give to a young child and his/her family?
• Are you looking for a rewarding way to volunteer your time?
• Become a Volunteer Home Visitor for the Parent Child Home Program.
• The Parent Child Home program promotes early literacy in the family.
• The Volunteer home visitor guides the parent to become the literacy coach to their child, by presenting FREE books and toys during two 30 minute visits to the home each week.
• At each visit the volunteer will demonstrated a variety of literacy activities with the book or toy.
• A long term commitment of 4 hours a week for 9 months, from September to June is required.
• Volunteers must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be willing to participate in a 16 hour training program in preparation for the home visiting experience.
• A flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and an upbeat positive attitude is a must!
